Positive impacts of 'green buildings' on human well-being

Sustainability is simple common sense. For example, people experience physical and emotional health benefits from spending time in nature and are more 'happy and productive' when working and living in 'green buildings'. Specifically in terms of a reduction of #stress and #anxiety.

STOP Entrepreneurial Clichés (Erasmus+)

A productive and very enjoyable Stop Entrepreneurial Cliches - SEC   #ErasmusPlus Consortium meeting at European Sustainability Academy - Crete with colleagues from Slovenia France and Ireland.

STOP Entrepreneurial Clichés is a Erasmus+ funded project for 'Promoting Entrepreneurship Education for Young People'.
Between 2018 and 2020, a consortium of project partners from France Hauts De Garonne Développement Greece European Sustainability Academy- Crete Ireland and Slovenia EMC - Entrepreneurship Movement Club are collaborating with the aim of increasing youth entrepreneurship by deconstructing ‘clichés’ and the perceived barriers which put off young people from starting their own enterprise directly after their education.
The project will create practical toolkits, learning materials and knowledge sharing learning activities including:

  • Young Entrepreneur Testimonials
  • Educational Video
  • Educational Interactive ‘Game’
  • Interactive Workshops

Bamboo Bicycle 2019

To raise awareness about how everyone can 'Take The Initiative' to make sure that environmental laws are understood and enacted every day, the Bamboo Bikes will be ridden from the far eastern Cretan prefecture of Sitia over 5 days back to Drapanos the home of ESA and finish at the seaside resort of Almyrida in the Apokoronas region of Crete. This will complete a full ride of the length of Crete started by the riders for EUGreenWeek 2018. EVERYONE is WELCOME!

EU Green Week 2019 'Take the Initiative' – Applying environmental legislation

As an official EU Green Week Event Partner, ESA has joined up with Global Sustain from Athens to co-organize the "Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability Day", on May 10, 2019 at the ANEK Lines Conference Center in Chania, Crete.

The event launches ESA's full EUGreenWeek programme and aims to inform a wide range of people about practical environmental actions in Corporate Responsibility and Sustainable Development with a focus on the agri-food, tourism, transport and energy sectors.

The effects of climate change have been particularly evident in Crete recently. Responsible management of natural resources, infrastructure and energy has a huge and immediate impact on our lives. It is more necessary than ever to raise awareness of sustainable development, particularly in areas that strengthen the local economy and improve our quality of life.

The event is open to everyone including professionals, organizations and businesses. Representatives of the European Commission and Parliament, political leadership and local government (Ministries, Regions, Municipalities), chambers, scientific and research institutions, institutions etc. are expected to take part.

The conference is organized in the framework of "EU Green Week", under the auspices of the Region of Crete, the Municipality of Chania and the Technical Chamber of Greece.
